Barn Wedding Venue

Rustic barn-style reception hall with round tables, chairs, and chandeliers on a wooden floor

"I call Alex the Wood Magician! I wouldn’t even consider hiring anybody else to do any carpentry work for me."

Tammy Shafer

Founder of Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest

Bliss Barn at Sherwood Forest is a barn wedding venue with a four-story grand hall with soaring 40-foot ceilings and a capacity to fit over 225 guests. We did all the woodworking except framing, including car siding, trim, and setting doors.

After the car siding was up, our client wanted to add cameras. We were nimble and figured out how to make her vision possible. We dadoed out and cut grooves into the back of boards to hide the camera wires.

This project required fine detail work. We carefully cut boards around HVAC system pipes and scribed boards so they fit perfectly. When Tammy saw the quality of our work, she called us back again and again to do shutters, an outdoor ceremony arch, shelves, and benches.

"You can really tell how much love and detail went into this silo conversion; the use of space is brilliant and the finishes are top-notch. I was blown away by the creative use of old bowling alley lanes for the spiral staircase and countertops—such a cool, unique feature! " Jena AirBnb Review

This meant starting pretty much from scratch. We gutted the house, and by the time we were done, nearly every surface was new, including the deck, flooring, paint, trim, countertops, appliances, light and plumbing fixtures, cabinets, sod, roof, and AC unit.
